Slate Studio:

Slate Studio is a creative playground split into 4 main areas. Each corner is included and designed to be used for photoshoots, video shoots, office space, co-working space and as an event venue.

Our quad-space design includes:

Policies

  • No open flame.
  • No smoking or drugs are permitted.
  • Be courteous of those using the studio before and after you.
  • We share our building with another business. Please keep all volume at a respectful level during work hours.
  • Guests can move furniture around. Please be gentle and return all furniture/equipment to its original location.
  • We are happy to host micro events (15-30 guests).
  •  If any of these policies are violated during your shoot, we reserve the right to charge additional fees.
  • When does the studio get the best light?
    Slate Studio is fortunate to have east and south facing windows, which means we get consistent direct light a majority of the day. In the morning it is the brightest and in the afternoon it become a bit softer.
  • Can I bring my own props?
    Absolutely! You are allowed to use our resources as well as bring in your own props for your session. Keep in mind, you must allow for your setup and teardown time within your scheduled rental time. You can not come early to set up.
  • Is there parking?
    We have a great deal of parking on/near the studio premise.
  • Is there a bathroom or changing room?
    Yes and yes! We have a bathroom (which also has GREAT natural light if you are wanting to do an in-home or boudoir session) as well as a huge walk-in closet that doubles as storage and a dressing room.
  • It the studio wheelchair accessable?
    Yes, but we need to know in advance if this is a need we can fulfill for you. The main entrance to the studio is up a flight of stairs, but we have a back entrance with a ramp that is not generally open to the public. Just let us know how we can help!
  • What if I need to cancel/reschedule?
    If you need to cancel at least 72 hours prior to the booking, a credit will be applied for a one-time reschedule allowance. This credit will be available for use within 1 month of original booking. If the cancellation occurs with less than 48-72 hours of notice, 50% of all payment will be refunded but no rescheduling. If cancellation occurs less than 48 hours prior to the rental date, there will be no refunds and no rescheduling.
  • Are dogs allowed in the studio?
    Yes, but please be mindful of the furniture. Additionally, please be aware that there is another dog on the property that wanders outside in a fenced-in area. It does not have access to the studio space or the hallway where you enter, but it is nearby so please keep your dog leashed while entering the studio!

Terms & Conditions

Scheduling -  When booking Slate Studios renters are guaranteed sole access to the premises during the time reserved. For this reason we request that in the event you need to cancel your booking you do so no later than 72 hours prior to your scheduled booking. 

 

Please note, we do not offer refunds. Cancellations given 72 hours or more notice will receive a credit for a one-time reschedule allowance. This credit will be available for use within 1 month of the original booking. If the cancellation occurs less than 72 hours before the studio reservation, a credit will be given for a one-time reschedule allowance and a $50 rebooking fee applied.

 

Property - Renter agrees to maintain the premises, furniture and all equipment within the premises in as good a condition as they were at the beginning of the term. They agree to dispose of all trash in the provided trash cans and clean up any messes that occur during their rental period. If the studio is not left in good condition (i.e. trash thrown away, props placed back in original locations, and messes cleaned up, items missing) and/or the Renter is late leaving the premises, they will be charged a $100.00 fee. 

 

Slate Studio Memphis may conduct video surveillance of any portion of its premises at any time, with the exception of private areas of restrooms and dressing rooms. Video cameras will be positioned in appropriate places within and around the building and used in order to help promote the safety and security of people and property. 

 

Renter will be liable for any physical damages, legal actions, and/or loss of reputation or business opportunities that Owner may incur as a consequence of the actions of Renter or any of Renter’s guests while Renter is in control of the premises and shall indemnify and hold harmless the Owner against any and all legal actions which may arise from Renter’s use of the premises.

 

Liability - This agreement releases Owner from all liability relating to physical injuries and/or injury to Renter’s equipment that may occur during any future rental period agreed upon between Owner and Renter. Renter agrees to hold Owner entirely free from any liability, including financial responsibility for injuries incurred, regardless of whether injuries are caused by negligence.
